New Partnerships Bring New Opportunities All with Teachers and Students in Mind In our constant effort to serve you and your students better, we continue to add new content to the Resource Center, entered into a new partnership to benefit early elementary teachers/students, have engaged new suppliers to save you money, and put the gifts of recent donors to use in the classroom. Let Perspectives XR, a non-profit dedicated to engaging students and educators in understanding various perspectives across time and place through the humanities and immersive technologies, help you learn about the exciting resources that exist. New disruptED Champions Program The Institute for Learning Perspectives is partnering with Austin-based disruptED to offer the disruptED Champions Program. The program seeks to empower Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers with outstanding AR/VR resources, training, and support in exchange for feedback and descriptions of teacher and student experiences and academic outcomes. Program participation is limited with applicants selected based on a range of factors including geographic, economic, and grade-level diversity. Participating teachers receive a disruptED Class Pack, training, access to devices if needed, and early notification of improvements and new materials. The application process is simple and quick with notification of acceptance within 72 hours. New Book Distributor Partnership Added to Save Educators Money Thanks to a new distribution agreement, Perspectives XR now has the ability to provide discounted copies of the children's classic The Boxcar Children from Albert Whitman & Company. This edition serves as the AR targets for the app by Living Popups which brings the story's characters to life on the pages. The app is available in the App Store and Google Play and we now can get you the books at teacher-friendly prices. The Generosity of Donors and the Service Mentality of PXR Helps Kids! Since our last newsletter, the Institute has been able to provide Battle of the Alamo resources to nearly 2,300 students, diruptED literacy materials to nearly 400 Pre-K students, and we even have a few disruptED Starter Kits remaining all thanks to the generosity of donors. That is the good news, bad news is that we have more than 30 teachers on the wait list while we secure more donors. Keep the requests coming! Check out our updated Resource Center! Your destination for immersive humanities experiences. This ever-expanding section of our site features a new browse function and is intended to help you locate and review immersive humanities resources for use in history, ELAR, and fine arts classrooms. If you know of something we've missed, let us know and we will add it.
